Resumen

CUESTAS, Paula. The turn of the screw in publishing industry: young people who read, make and sell books. Trab. soc. [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.38, pp.383-413.  Epub 01-Ene-2022. ISSN 1514-6871.

This article describes and analyzes the young adult publishing industry. An industry in which young people themselves are protagonists since they are part of the publishing and development of the books they read. In this framework, bloggers, booktubers and bookstagrammers have a central position. People who review their (many) readings, share editorial news and encourage reading books in their different social media. That is the reason why this paper focus on them: the BBB community and, also, in the way this great readers begin to work in publishing industry in different positions. For this purpose, I analyzed in-depth interviews, as well as fieldwork notes in events these people participate. Thus, we will see how unresolved tensions between the comercial and the cultural, typical of cultural production, are reproduced in this art world.

Palabras clave : young people; great readers; digital technologies; publishing industry.
