In the present article we will develop the main union strategies of the retail union of the city of Rosario, in the 1990 and 2000 decades. During this period an increase of union activity is produced, which is expressed in conflict at the establishments, practically unprecedented shop stewards presence and resurgence of a centenarian claim such as Sunday rest. Retail union dynamic is due to a variety of factors we will underline, which have similarities to and differences from union revitalization processes that are produced in the period of post-convertibility. In summary, this trade union growth process starts at 1998, when an alliance is made between its traditional leaders and historically opposition activists. From this point on, we will analyze union strategies that are built, and highlight main progresses and constraints of working conditions` changes at retail sector. One of the principal contributions of this article is the attempt to bring out the weaknesses of an approach that contrasts

union movement fragmentation and crisis during the 90s and a later revitalization.
