Resumen
RODRIGUEZ, Laura Graciela y PETITTI, Mara. The voices of rural teachers: childhood, family and school in heterogeneous settings (Argentina, 1948). Trab. soc. [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.38, pp.625-642. Epub 01-Ene-2022. ISSN 1514-6871.
In recent years, significant advances have been made in rural education. However, this is a subject that still needs to be investigated, especially in some areas outside the Pampas. In the beginning of 1948, a series of articles compiled by the rosarian pedagogue Olga Cossettini about the rural schools of Chaco, Entre Ríos, Santa Fe, Santiago del Estero and San Juan was published in the magazine Cursos y Conferencias, which belonged to the branch of the Colegio Libre de Estudios Superiores (CLES) of Rosario. In this article we will analyze these texts, observing the diagnoses and proposals made by the teachers concerning children, parents, school and teachers. We will present a concise description of the rural school in the early stages of Peronism and provide some biographical data from teachers. We will see that in their papers, the authors were focused on describing the poverty that affected the rural world; while offering a very complex picture, presenting how each National Territory and province was far from being a homogeneous space.
