BARRAZA, José. From the trade union to the party. The trade-unionist and militant career of Francisco Páez (1969-1972). Trab. soc. [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.39, pp.529-549. Epub 01-Jul-2022. ISSN 1514-6871.
This article is a contribution to the reconstruction of the trajectories of the leaders and workers of Fiat Concord, within the framework of the process of worker radicalization from the Cordobazo. In particular, we will reconstruct and analyze a segment in the trade-unionist and political career of Francisco José “Petiso” Páez, between 1969 and 1972. His role, together with that of leaders such as Bizzi, Masera and Flores, is inscribed within the "classist" current that manifested itself in the workplace in response to employer arbitrariness, the traditional union model, and that had the perspective of revolution and socialism as a horizon. His interventions, balances and conclusions led him to join first Communist Vanguard, and then the Socialist Workers Party.
