ZILIO, Leandro; GORDON, Florencia; BEGUELIN, Marién  e  CASTRO, Alicia. Paleodietas humanas en el sur del Golfo San Jorge (Provincia de Santa Cruz) a partir del análisis de isótopos estables. Rev Arg Antrop Biol [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.1, pp.51-64. ISSN 1514-7991.

In this paper, chronological and stable isotopic data (δ15N and δ13C from collagen and apatite) of human remains from southern San Jorge Gulf were presented. The aim of this work was to explore the relative consumption of marine and terrestrial resources during the Late Holocene in the diet of hunter-gatherer populations. Results are discussed in the context of previous researches carried out in the southern sector of the northern coast of Santa Cruz between the Deseado sea inlet and Bahia Laura locality. According to what was expected, the obtained isotopic data agreed with the range of published values indicating mixed diets throughout the Late Holocene. In the frame of this investigation, the whole collection, housed in the Museo del Hombre y su Entorno (Caleta Olivia, Santa Cruz), was morphologically and demographically characterized following standard protocols. This contributed to the valorization and preservation process of collections deposited in small local institutions.
