This work intends to give a synthesis of the results achieved in the studies about the distribution/appropriation of land question and its link with the development of the cattle-rising activity in the Neuquen´s land. Beginning by establishing the relationship between legal norms -which express the distribution policies of the public land by the national state- and the actual practices -which are defined for the action of the government in the giving of land and the strategies used for the social subjects involved in its speculative appropriation or its setting to an effective production-
