This paper enquires into the distribution of land of the areas into the domain of the province of Buenos Aires after the conquest of the desert, analysing the economic census of 1895 in two recently annexed jurisdiction. The objective is to verify if it has changed the modes of acquisition on the concentration of property in a territory that was occupied in full force and effect of the new Civil Code. It was used traditional measures of inequality, such as the Gini coefficient and the deciles analysis, over the size of plots, applying criteria to select the rural properties
