We present a study on trends in social research in Argentina in the subject of the construction of the citizenship of young people in secondary school. The paper specifically discusses two areas of study: body, gender and sexuality in secondary school and political practices and their meanings for young people. We want not only to account for the main research, but essentially present the predominant clues of analysis, thematics more addressed as well as perspectives from which the research addresses the issues. The journey reveals that scientific production is concentrated on finding the meanings that politics has for subjects, redefined according to the perspective of the actors, the trends in education policy and social change. We believe that this study may contribute to problematize differences and similarities between countries and the possible influence of national and regional studies on youth and education issues.
