Abstract

Much of the recent curriculum changes in initial teacher education tend to increase the relative weight of its practical component. However, our region has carried out few empirical studies on teaching practice in initial training. This article systematizes the Anglophone research on the practicum    triad  (composed of preservice teachers, supervisors and cooperating teachers or mentors) between 2000 and 2014. We present 84 papers organized into four issues: (1) becoming a teacher educator, (2) the educational role of supervisors and cooperating teachers, (3) the feedback in field experiences and (4) the conflicts among the members of the triad. This work seeks to contribute with empirical evidence to the regional discussion on field experiences.
