The aim of this work is to present the teaching strategies implemented in the 2010-2014 period in order to improve the teaching and learning quality in the Histology, Embryology and Teratol-ogy Course, the post-implementation course ap-proval percentages, and the students' perception about the learning environment. We compared the results with the 2006-2009 cohorts, which teaching was academicist. Pre-instructional, co-instructional and post-instructional teaching strat-egies were implemented. Practical works and seminars were implemented with premises of col-laborative learning. The approval percentage in 2010-2014 period was 91.4%, significantly higher than the percentage of 2006-2009 period (82.4%) (P<0.05). 96.1% of students agreed that teaching was stimulating, helped them to develop their skills (94.5%), and improved lesson participation    (97.8%)    and    autonomous learning (91.7%).
