Abstract

The term bullying is increasingly used to refer ge- nerically to various situations of violence occur- ring in the school space. This article poses a dou- ble objective. In the first place, it seeks to char- acterize and differentiate critically the problem of bullying, from a more extensive phenomenon such as the field of violence at schools. Secondly, it analyzes the symbolic effects of the use of the term bullying, based on a case of a group of high school students that calls itself "the bullying". As part of a qualitative research framework during the year 2012 carried out 35 in-depth interviews and a focus group with students of a high school of State management of Buenos Aires province, in Argentina.
