Abstract

This article reflects upon the assumption of unrestricted income as an indicator of a possible democratization of higher university studies. As discussed in the present study, the admission without excluding mechanisms, had the correlate with indirect mechanisms of selection in the course of university studies. This paper starts by describing briefly the scenario of the current Higher Education System in Argentina. Subsequently, some remarks are made on students' entrance, retention and graduation. The article ends with reflections made by the authors.
