Abstract

In the present work we propose to analyze the ways in which the security problem crosses the school institution, focusing on its capacity to construct subjectivities through the coordination and tension of different forms of interpellation, which we associate with a politics of compassion, a policy of repression and a policy of right. We start theoretical and methodological from an anthropological perspective, which allows us to explore the school everyday of two peripheral schools in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. Based on these concrete experiences of state institutions and agents, we take the analysis of the causes of insecurity beyond material conditions to reflect on three problems that cross the school: the blurring between legal and illegal, stigmatization –of places and people– and erosion of the imaginary of the future.
