Abstract

CATALDI, Mariana. History of a Plan: Teach and learn about aging at the secondary educational level. Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2021, vol.31, n.1, pp.41-50.  Epub June 01, 2021. ISSN 1515-9485.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37177/unicen/eb31-286.

The article describes the experience of training in elderly care through the “Purposes with Trades” Program implemented in the Municipality of San Martín Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The analysis is based on the evaluations carried out by the students throughout the course, both in the classroom and in the instance of practices and supervision records. From a procedural perspective, it explains its incipient pregnancy, start-up and evaluation. The three axes identified are developed from the analysis: the deconstruction of prejudices, awareness of the rights of the elderly and the expression of emotions in the learning process. This exchange space facilitated the exercise of critical thinking and the permanent linking of theoretical contents with real situations, both referred to personal experiences and in the scenario of institutional practices.

Keywords : secondary education; aging; prejudices; rights; emotions.
