Resumen

ROMERO SANCHEZ, Alfredo Leonardo. Bullying from the view of the observers. Social networks and physical violence in a high school level in Jalisco, Mexico. Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2021, vol.31, n.1, pp.196-210.  Epub 01-Jun-2021. ISSN 1515-9485.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37177/unicen/eb31-296.

Within the analysis of school violence, there are three fundamental actors: assaulted, aggressors and observers. Although knowing the experiences of the protagonists of these events is relevant, is also important what is observed by those who are present in educational spaces as witnesses. The focus group technique was applied to high school adolescents from Colotlán, Jalisco, Mexico, who reflect on the facts taking into account physical assaults and interactions on social networks. Among the results is the presence of online violence, the ease with which attacks are visible, the lack of privacy in communications and the absence of complaints to parents and authorities. It is considered essential that actors resignify social networks and their impact on the actions of adolescents, and value this stage of self-creation in social networks through a proper image management.

Palabras clave : adolescence; bullying; cyberbullying; social media.
