Resumen

CASTRO, Luis Adrián. La cosa en sí como fundamento simbólico: un abordaje analógico del problema de la afección. Tópicos [online]. 2022, n.44, e0015. ISSN 1666-485X.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.14409/topicos.2022.44.e0015.

Symbol and analogy might seem to be accessory issues in Kant's philosophy. However, these notions acquire great relevance if we bear in mind that many problems of his philosophy can be clarified from a symbolic interpretation. In this article, first, some points of the Kantian perspective on the symbol will be presented. This will be done, fundamentally, on the basis of some specifications that Kant makes in The Progress of Metaphysics. Secondly, the analogical background underlying the Kantian notion of symbol will be examined. Since the aim of the article is to approach the problem of affection from a symbolic perspective, some precisions and interpretations regarding the ontological status of the thing-in-itself will be briefly presented. From the results obtained, we will argue that when Kant states that we can think of the relation between thing-in-itself and phenomenon as a relation of grounding, it is possible to interpret that we are facing a symbolic expression.

Palabras clave : affection; analogy; bound; symbol; thing-in-itself.
