Abstract

ACENALAZA, Florencio G. The geological research in the years 1852-1868: the scientists and explorers in the Argntine Confederation epoch. Ser. correl. geol. [online]. 2008, n.24, pp.71-84. ISSN 1666-9479.

Deep political changes dones by the Argentine Confederation began 1852 brought the need to display the potentiality of the country. As a result of these, a qualificied group of experts wher hired between 1852-1868 tu study the geology, minning and natural resources of the national territory. Among others Du Gratty, Bravard, de Moussy, Burmeister and Rickards need to be mentioned Phullippi, Page, Jacques and von Tschudi travelers. The maps compilers Petterman and Fopetterle provided numerous information that allowed to place the country as nation on the international scheme.
