Resumen
AVILA, Julio C. y LAZARTE, José E.. Mineralization in low grade metamorphic basement of Catamarca and north of La Rioja, Argentina. Ser. correl. geol. [online]. 2010, vol.26, n.2, pp.85-102. ISSN 1666-9479.
In the south central sector of Catamarca province and north of La Rioja crop out metamorphic rocks of different names included in the "Puncoviscana Formation s.l", (Neoproterozoic - Early Cambrian) that contain mainly metal-bearing mineralization. In Papachacra, Altohuasi - Culampajá and Belén hills metamorphites of Loma Corral Formation houses veins of W, Fe (F), Pb - Zn (Ag, Au) and Topaz. In Sierra de Ambato veins of Sb are hosted in La Cébila Formation. In the Cerro Negro de Rodríguez the Negro Peinado Formation contains vetiform mineralization of Cu, Pb and Zn. Except for the case of La Cébila, where there are not outcrops of igneous rocks, all the deposits has space and possibly genetic relationship with granitoids. It has been observed that the development of the veins is bigger where the wall rocks are metamorphites.
