Abstract

RADICE, Stefania et al. Petrological structural analysis of the Cerro Áspero botholith host rocks: Sierra de Comechingones, Cördoba. Ser. correl. geol. [online]. 2012, vol.28, n.2, pp.09-22. ISSN 1666-9479.

In this paper, field relationships, petrological and structural features of the Cerro Áspero batholith host rocks, Sierra de Comechingones, Córdoba, are presented. These rocks constitute a metamorphic complex that is mainly composed of diatexites, metatexites and minor Bt-Grt-gneisses, amphibolites, phyllonites, marbles and small bodies of granitic pegmatites. A heterogeneous composition for this set is inferred, where typical pelites, pelites with low Al2O3 and greywacke protoliths dominate, with subordinate amounts of carbonatic rocks and volcanites. These studies and regional correlations allowed establishing an evolutionary model for the study area.

Keywords : Sierras de Comechingones; Petrology; Structure; Metamorphism; Evolutionary Sequence.
