Abstract

LIGHTOWLER, C et al. Comparison of the tei index value calculated by transvalvular flow doppler and bidimensional ecocardiography in M-mode. InVet [online]. 2016, vol.18, n.1, pp.77-84. ISSN 1668-3498.

The authors studied the Tei index calculated thorough the two-dimensional M-mode guided echocardiography and determined the normal value for the dog. They also compared the results obtained by this technique with normal Tei index value measured by flow wave Doppler technique. For this purpose 47 cardiologically healthy dogs were used and the obtained value for the M-mode technique was 0,4710 ± 0,178 while for the flow wave Doppler technique was 0,4327 ± 0,1842. The statistical processing through Student t technique demonstrated that the differences do not have statistical significance.

Keywords : Tei index; Dogs; M-Mode; Normal Values.
