Resumen

MANCHADO, Mauricio Carlos. La Escuela de Frankfurt, una constelación en movimiento. Trama comun. [online]. 2014, vol.18, n.1, pp.15-30. ISSN 1668-5628.

This work proposes an introduction -or possible entry- to one of the lines of thought most important and influential in the field of communication: Critical Theory, also known as “Frankfurt School”. Critical perspective that, in the course of the text, we qualify like “constellation in motion” because it contains not only a theoretical continuous-territorial mobility but also heterogeneity of intellectuals who formed part of or linked to it. Constellation that dialogs with marxism, judaism, nazism, socialism and capitalism and which dialogue crystallizes the imposibility of think it like a single and compact block. Contrary to that, the discussions between their members -we will focus here on one of the most significant, Adorno-Benjamin- have done the “Critical Theory” one of the perspectives of analysis more complex and complete to think the political, cultural and media process of twentieth century. Constellation that, mainly, proposes to advance in the challenging task of making a rational criticism of our own Western rationality.

Palabras clave : Critical theory; Marxism; Cultural industry; Capitalism; Revolution.
