DEMONTE, Flavia Carolina. Dime qué lees y te diré cómo deberías comer: Análisis de las recomendaciones alimentarias en la prensa argentina (2009-2014). Trama comun. [online]. 2018, vol.22, n.2, pp.35-54. ISSN 1668-5628.

The aim of this article is that of describing and analyzing the eating recommendations and pieces of advice found in the Argentinean written press. We appealed to a qualitative approach with an exploratory-descriptive design, based on the gathering, processing, and analysis of news clippings from the written media published nationwide between 2009 and 2014. The results obtained show that the main Argentinean written media analyzed not only give out information about what, how much, and how we should eat, but also promote certain eating choices and practices based exclusively on dietary motivations. The analysis leads us to take into consideration the starring actors responsible for strengthening the knowledge of medicine and nutrition, as well as the lack of knowledge of other main actors, promoting dietary normalization/standardization processes which deepen the medicalization, moralization, and individualization of eating choices and practices.
