ABELEDO, Sebastián. Pastoralism at the beginning of a new century: its validity in Santa Rosa de los Pastos Grandes (departamento de Los andes, Salta. Andes [online]. 2014, vol.25, n.2, pp.00-00. ISSN 1668-8090.

In this paper we propose to study the mobility strategies of herders of Santa Rosa de los Pastos Grandes, a town of the Puna de Salta in northwest Argentina. We describe in detail its characteristics and particularities, with emphasis on how affect its dynamics the multiple relationships that herders hold with state institutions and sectors of the capitalist market. From this analytical perspective we developed a preliminary reflection on the possibilities of articulation local pastoralism with other modes of production and the projected value judgments about this contemporary way of life.
