QUINTEROS, Victor Enrique. Women, charity and religiosity: A case study .  Salta, second half of nineteenth century. ( 1864-1895 )). Andes [online]. 2017, vol.28, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1668-8090.

In the second half of nineteenth century, the religious/charities female associations charged a renewed impetus in the context of the reconfiguration process of institutional relations between Church and State. We propose to reconstruct the associative experience of one woman of local elite, Rosa Barrenechea de Ojeda, during this time to; a) characterize the social, religious and charitable activities that had been assumed by her and their group; b) unravel the institutional interweaving in which these activities were framed; c) and, analyze the use of their social relationships in the fulfillment of group objectives. This approach, from a perspective of gender and class, will allow us to understand the functionality of decent women's charitable practice regarding social and economic interests of their social group, their role as intermediaries between both, state and ecclesiastic government programs, and the particularity of their intervention in the public space beyond the formal instances of delegation and representation.
