DIMARCO, Luciana Sofía. LAS CONMEMORACIONES DE LA BATALLA DE SALTA ENTRE LA FUNDACIÓN DEL CLUB 20 DE FEBRERO Y EL “PRIMER PERONISMO”. APROPIACIONES, RESIGNIFICACIONES Y DISPUTAS. Andes [online]. 2022, vol.33, n.2, pp.181-213. ISSN 1668-8090.

This article contributes to sociocultural mechanisms and dynamics of elaboration of the past and the history discussions, and about construction of identity and belonging processes within the framework of specific political uses. The appropriations and resignifications of the historical event Battle of Salta (BS), in which the independence forces were victorious, that took place on February 20th 1813 as part of the Argentinean independence struggles, was ethnographically reconstructed. This event, on a certain local way, is constructed as a founding historical event and of the people of Salta, also the contribution that the province claims in national history.

We problematize two analytically significant moments crossed by the tensions and power disputes. In the first place, refers to the 20 de Febrero’s Club foundation and maintenance, social club par excellence associated to the Salta elite created in 1858; and also with his gala ball for the BS’s Anniversary and the foundation of the club, constituted a singular political appropriation of the historical event by the salteñian elite. In the second place, the “official” celebrations within the framework of so-called salteñian “first peronist governments”, and how the meanings of this “state ritual” were update there.
