Resumen

BARGARDI, Daniela. Science and society: a look from ethics. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2000, n.15, pp.175-180. ISSN 1668-8104.

Is intended to do a critic reflection about the relationship between science and ethics, from the actual situation, although the science and society have interests and needs that not always are satisfied by the scientists. From this point we pretend the before hand relationship from this way on: On and hand to explain the science an activity not contaminated, considered as a "neutral" science. On the other hand the science considered as a accomplishment where men, beyond their theoretical and objective achievements, go forward technologically, up to a point to think of the science as guilty of the evil things that the world suffers. Even tough, we think that the science today can be named techno-science because is almost impossible to separate it from technology and is here precisely when the problem is more critical: Is it possible the neutral ethic of the science? In this dialectic game, between science and society, we find values, ethic rules (as a principle of the human doing) faced with the interests, the power, the lost of the human rights, they come into a devalue and lead us to think in hammer science that frighten us. These problems can only be superat when with the reason the human dimension occupy its place.
