Resumen

CARRIQUE, Amalia  y  LOPEZ, Edgardo A.. Towards a praxis of the image. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2001, n.16, pp.63-68. ISSN 1668-8104.

This work intends to analyse the effects produced by the television on the perception-interpretation-cognition of first-year students of the Facultad de Humanidades, Universidad Nacional de Salta, Argentina. The interest in this issue arose due to the problems students taking the subject Idioma Nacional present when they recognize and produce argumentative academic texts. We conclude that there exists an evil dialectics: on the one hand, audio-visual texts produce in the students forms of perception-interpretation-cognition that come into conflict with the forms related to oral and written texts. On the other, the deconstruction of those audio-visual texts is essential, because it shapes our students' encyclopaedia. Paradoxically, this deconstructive reading requires skills developed by means of the linguistic register. We believe that the interaction between an audio-visual and linguistic methodology to teach to read and write might be an optional pedagogical proposal to solve the problem.
