Abstract

CAIVANO, José Luis. Investigation on visual object from a semiotic point of view, with special emphasis on visual signs produced by light: colour and "cesia". Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2001, n.17, pp.85-99. ISSN 1668-8104.

A methodological orientation is proposed to deal with the study of visual objects from a semiotic point of view, specially regarding light perception from spectral distribution (that produces light sensation) and its spacial distribution, (that produces a "cesía" sensation: transparency, translucency, opacity, reflection, etc.) After establishing an epistemological orientation, and formulate some definitions and draw an outlook about some antecedents in colour study, and the appearance produced by the distribution of light in space, it is proposed that semiotics can function as an adequate theoretical frame to organize and include the different fields from traditionally dealt with study considering the following aspects: physics, chemistry, physiology, neurophysiology, psychology, psychophysical perception.
