Abstract

TRAVERSA, Oscar  and  MORE, María Rosa. About the construction of the body during 1940 to 1970: a semiotization course in the press. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2001, n.17, pp.465-479. ISSN 1668-8104.

This paper corresponds to a series known as the ways of body presence in press commercials in the 20th century, the aspect which is examined here is concerned with what we call formants (brassieres and girdles), the ones that were shown in the previous study (corresponding to the previous period 1918-1940) as a particularly conflictive aspect in the discourse constructions them. In this examination, like in the previous period, connecting with other media domains are attempted to be established, especially the ones concerning with technical preceding of production of images and in the organization of scenes, as articulators of semiotics processes, which originate the construction of certain type of body.
