Abstract

This work refers to ethnographic Pan-pipeses of the Central Andean region regrouped under generic denomination of Sikus. The central problem is to discover if they possess a defined musical structure with the objective of to understand its operation and to avoid the deformation of the knowledge in pedagogic tasks. The information comes from an experience carried out during three-year period in Argentina, in the geographical area of the Puna through interviews with musicians and comparative mensurations among instruments. The analysis is mainly valid for these coordinates of time and space. Nine instrumental species were considered according to the quantity of tubes, their tuning and registration of the instruments. They were classified on three families.
