Abstract

CREMONTE, María B.; ZABURLIN, M.A.  and  PERALTA, Sebastián M.. Agua Hedionda ¿un ejemplo de ocupación y control estatal? (Dto. San Antonio, Jujuy). Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2003, n.20, pp.109-132. ISSN 1668-8104.

In this paper preliminary results about recent investigations in the inka site of Agua Hedionda are presented. This settlement located in the Department of San Antonio may be an example of state storage site, as it is revealed by a great number of concentrated storage units (qolqas) associated with nonstorage facilities. Based on its size and unique characteristics the importance of this settlement is stated as an approach to the knowledge of the state political economy in this peripheral region, and probable interactions among Agua Hedionda and sites in the eastern frontier and Lerma Valley are discussed.

Keywords : State storing; Economic policy; Inka.
