Since some time ago we have been working with Andean, popula oral literature, and we have analized it from a hermeneutic perspective. The account (Nota 1) we have chosen to provide and example was used as a resourse to introduce hermeneutics as part of our curriculum of the subject I teach (Nota 2). The selected account narrates a case of Aykadura (Nota 3) an illness in the Argentine Andean North Western zone. To understand the text we have to realize that it is expressed through a fabric of symbols which are always polysemic and this polysemy that constitutes them as symbols acts by means of analogical relations impossible to do away with, but for the fact that this closure comes from the absence of signification caused by the unableness to understand. Although coherence in sense is an immanent principle in discourse, the reference to it expressed the movement in which language transcends itself, in its relation to the world. Therefore there is a dialectical relationship between meaning and reference; this makes it possible to interpret it, assuming the ineludible presence of conflicts centered in it.
