The archaeological site from where the radiocarbonic dating is here spoken about, may be called "Guayatayoc". This is the name of a large lake which dried up in the XX century. This lake concentrated at its banks prehistoric settlements of different ages. The exact place from where the sample was taken is called "El Pasaje" or "Pasajes" and belongs to the first sedentary people who benefited from the riches of the basin. In the year 1968 the archaeologist Jorge Fernández published his information without having the analysis of radiocarbon. In 1973 the archaeologist mentioned before, returned to the archaeological place and took a sample of carbon. He sent it to a laboratory in Illinois (USA) and received the results which are given in this article. Before he died in 2001, Jorge Fernández sent to the author of this article the exact report of the Laboratory. The result shows that the prehistoric occupation of El Pasaje is 2000 years before the beginning of the Christian Era. This announce is completed with an analysis of stone objects of El Pasaje deposited by Jorge Fernández in the Eduardo Casanova Archaeological Museum in Tilcara, principally elements to grind, projectile points and other artefacts . This unedited information is completed with some radiocarbon dating of other very old villages on both sites of the road "Paso de Jama", Jujuy, North West Argentina, in the boundary with the Republic of Chile.
