Abstract

MARTINEZ, Ana Teresa. Pierre Bourdieu ' readings and reader: Lessons and ambiguities from France and America. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2008, n.34, pp.251-268. ISSN 1668-8104.

In this work, we propose some elements for the interpretation of Pierre Bourdieu's sociology, through exploring the sides of readers and readings done around his work in France and the United States. This is an attempt to locate them in any conditions on which they were done and the readers situated, linking certain senses given to Bourdieu's texts with these reading operations, intellectual an affective at the same time. In this way, just the involvement in a field, on which Bourdieu had a position and position takings particularly controversial, as the frequently unknown distance of the other's intellectual context, seen from a dominant position, conspire against the innovative sociological work comprehension in any of the cases.

Keywords : Bourdieu; reading practices; sociological field; social theory.
