Abstract

GALLI, José María. Violence: trait of the species or emerging. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2010, n.38, pp.89-97. ISSN 1668-8104.

This work is an advance of a research project: "Violence its setting and its processes of identification" carried out by the social psychology teaching team at the FHYyCS-UNJu (The Humanities and Social Sciencies) UNJu evaluated and finance by SeCTeR. Its main objective is to analyze two antagonic theoretical perspectives about the origin of violence and, ultimately on the human psyche. It is quite common to point out that the violence in Argentina has grown in different places of everyday life of Argentine people, violence growth that accompanies crime or its sporadic reappearance in certain expressions of social conflict, during the last two decades more atypical phenomena have been added to the other historical moments in our country. We mean the more frequent suicide cases (especially among young people), different forms of aggression among members of the educational community, among neighbours in neighbourhoods, football fans and even in the traffic quarrels. These are just some example of how violence is involved practically our daily life, since most of us have been victims, protagonist or direct witnesses of different forms of violence. But what is specially significant is how simultaneously is has been produced extraordinary advances in the discoveries in the genetic fields as well an in microbiology, different expression of conservative thinking (considering a moment of apogee from 80 on) people have tried to force deductions that interpret all violence phenomena derived from aggressive behaviour inherent to the species, or inherited organic illnesses. All these interpretations, among other practical expression reinforce the representative apparatus, the enhancement of the condemnation or de decrease of the edge unfit to be pleaded a negation of fragmentation, as common denominator of the role of the determination, with are socio-historical in violent behaviour.
