The ancient Horatian proposal to combine didactics and delight, or what is useful and sweet -  form the basis for interdisciplinary research on the teaching of values in secondary school we are currently undertaking. The growing number of symptoms of a " cultural malaise" has put the focus on young people and children, natural receptacle of expectations of regeneration of a society from its foundations and strategies addressed to values in crisis reestablishment  or almost extinct, e.g.  value of life, concept of effort, resilience, respect for diversity and otherness ...           Our proposal is modulated on the conviction that literature of all times, the literature that has transcended its production circumstances, is the best value support, unlike that written ad hoc, because it condenses itself around his aesthetic quality without bastardizing its role in providing the enjoyment of reading.           The aim of this paper is to present the results of previous theory-practice approaches on this issue done by our research team, intended to classroom proposals where texts like "Don Quixote" ( Cervantes) , "Galileo Galilei " ( Brecht) , "Friday or wildlife " (Tournier) , " What do you want with me, love? " (Manuel Rivas), among others, express the fiction values such as life, dialogue, building (positive) identity, knowledge ... in a "sweet" way and allow the student reflection without any indoctrination or expository content
