DICHDJI, Ayelen. The construction of the environmental discourse in the argentinian press [1970-1980]. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2015, n.48, pp.87-102. ISSN 1668-8104.
This research aims to analyze the construction of the environmental discourse in the Argentinian press, as a source of empirical information about socio-environmental dynamics in the period between 1960-1980. Thus the study proposes an interconnection among three disciplines: communication, linguistic and history. Environmentalism is considered a heterogeneous social movement where different lines of thought are set and whose central core it the defense of nature and human environment understood in the framework of the connection between nature and society. In Argentina, the environmentalist speech gained growing relevance and visibility since early 1970's expressing in different civic organizations, ecological academic associations and institutional and normative of various types. The media are involved in the reality construction and partially modified it, at the same time, they construct a speech addressing the interests of a particular group, constructed identities, social relations and systems of belief and knowledge. In this way ExpresoImaginario magazine will be used as a primary source of analysis and because it is considered a pioneer publication in Argentina who dedicates an entire section to environmental issues
