Resumen

ABAN, Ana Gabriela. DEBATES ON THE REGIONAL IN LUCRECIA MARTEL'S FILMS. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2016, n.49, pp.101-112. ISSN 1668-8104.

The issue to be dealt with in this work is framed within the debates on regionalism across the diverse artistic production fields.             This work main aim is to analyze the presence of regional aspects in Lucrecia Martel's films within the framework of different debates that, in diverse contexts, arose among the filmmaker, some sectors of the critic (journalistic and specialized), and from the spectators.             Having as a point of reference Pierre Bourdieu's cultural fields theory, the method used is based on the analysis of the positions of some of the agents involved in the dynamics of the field of Argentinian film industry in the mid-90s: filmmakers, critics and spectators.             Among the results obtained, we observe that the presence of regional aspects in Martel's films can be read as the symbolic capital that has contributed to the recognition of the filmmaker at a national and international level. However, in the capital accumulation converge different perspectives and appreciations (those coming from diverse sectors of the critic and from spectators).             At the same time, although with some similar techniques and resources, Martel has differentiated herself from other filmmakers of the same period, not only because she opts for filming in the up-country, but because she does it from a perspective that demystifies the essentialist views hold to represent the regions.             From all this, a cinematographic production and a discourse that legitimizes it are derived, which divert the single account from the Porteña urbanity

Palabras clave : Films; Critics; Spectators; Martel; Regionalism.
