ORTIZ DE ROZAS, Victoria. The studies on subnational politics in Argentina: a review of different disciplines and perspectives. On the contributions of a scale of analysis and its affinity with an approach centred on political actors and their practices. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2016, n.50, pp.57-80. ISSN 1668-8104.
The studies on subnational politics have had a remarkable development in our country in the last years. The article provides an analytical review of different disciplines, identifying research lines and perspectives on subnational politics. It shows how this analytical scale allows to redefine and to question interpretations on the State, democracy and political parties, taking into account actors and social and political processes unknown to a "national" approach. It is the building of the "national" level that turns out to be questioned, considering this level in its centred on political actors agency; identifying a mainly deductive perspective that examines political phenomena in terms of variables and other one where the study of political subnational actors, their features and practices, are seen as means of generating hypothesis and interpretations on political phenomena
