This article covers the evolution that has taken place since the concept of cultural industry, as it was theorized by Adorno and Horkheimer in the years immediately following the second world war, until what we are here calling imaginary macrostructure: understanding by that term, the vast exercise parallel to the phenomenon of economic globalization operated by global capitalism in the context of the social imaginary (Castoriadis) today current, in virtue of which this imaginary tends to be occupied by a few global brands - not necessarily o commercial nature - expanding and replace each other without solution of continuity, giving rise to the liquid nature (Bauman), so it corresponds to this imaginary
