Resumen

RODRIGUEZ CURLETTO, Silvina Vanesa  y  ANGIORAMA, Carlos Ignacio. The contours of the human figure in the rock art of the period of regional developments (900-1430 A.D.) in the south of Pozuelos (Puna de Jujuy, Argentina. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2019, n.56, pp.251-288. ISSN 1668-8104.

This work presents a first approach to the conformation of the human figures depicted in rock art in the south of the Pozuelos basin (Puna de Jujuy, Argentina) during the Regional Development Period (900-1430 AD). An alternative theoretical approach to the representational approach is proposed, which aims to discuss the transposition and emergence of subjects in constant performativity. To do this, 192 painted and engraved human figures are analyzed, taking as starting point the canons and patterns previously defined for the Northwestern Argentina (NWA). The techniques, composition and relationships of the human figure within the plastic space, its links with the stylistic modalities defined for the microregion, the associated archaeological context and the properties of the landscapes in which it is emplaced are considered. Three planes of transpositions of this figure are analyzed in relation to referents, landscapes and material supports. The results achieved allow to characterize seven patterns of the human figure in the south of Pozuelos and to identify different relationships between each pattern and the stylistic modalities of the microregion. The links of the human figure with various references are defined, and an evident transposition towards different material and landscape supports. The various strategies used in the manufacture of the human figure as the standardization of techniques, morphologies, scales and relationships, allows us to reflect on the emergence of different performative subjects for each stylistic modality. And finally, it is proposed that the patterns defined for the south of Pozuelos, present landscape transpositions with a macroregional scope that would allow rethinking the links between certain sociocultural landscapes of the NWA
