Abstract

The present article seeks to analyze the main socio-educational characteristics of the incoming students into the Physical Education Teaching Training College in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. From an extensive survey carried out in four institutions by means of a self-administered questionnaire, it was sought to collect a series of data on social characteristics. This seeks to analyze who were the incoming students of the career and if it is possible to establish a relationship between their "profile" and the selected institution according to the dissimilar enrollments within the higher education system. From the analysis, it was concluded that it would be a reduction to establish a linear relationship between possible social characteristics and the choice of a specific institution profile. However, the unequal conditions in which the women found themselves at the time of starting their higher studies were identified, while at the same time the work allows us to observe how the social conditions of the student's  production reported unequally the reasons for the choice of the career. It is for this reason that it is intended to find lines of work that seek to analyze the processes of appropriation and resignification of students on training paths
