Manuel Gonzalo Casas ([1962], 2018) states that between the 1940s and 1950s the faculty of Philosophy and Letters consolidated in different areas "a prestige" of national scope as a consequence of a "university climate, sometimes exceptional", conducive to university philosophical production (Casas, 2018: 227). In a context marked by the normalization of philosophical work and the nationalization of the humanities, from the methodological tools of the History of Ideas and the Practical Philosophy, we analyse a set of aspects that characterize the first decades of university philosophy Mendoza. We aim to identify, on the one hand, the uniqueness of regional philosophical production in the context of Argentine university philosophical culture, and on the other, to recognize the way in which the institutional past challenges current academic practices
