Resumen

MELANI, E; DRAGHI, L; JORAJURIA COLLAZO, D  y  PALANCAR, T. Alteración de las propiedades mecánicas de un Ustochrept Udértico tratado con agua enriquecida en sodio. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2015, vol.41, n.1, pp.64-69. ISSN 1669-2314.

Irrigation waters high in sodium can cause deterioration of the physical-mechanical properties of soils. In this paper we tried to demonstrate the effect of treatment with water rich in sodium on these properties in a Ustochrept Udértico two treatments with different sodium adsorption ratio (SAR value) of 5 and 45. Behavior was assessed to compression and shear strength and obtaining the coefficient of cohesion and internal friction parameters. In the frame of Critical State Theory (EC) the virgin lines of both treatments and expansive / compressive shear behavior by placing Line EC were analyzed. Increasing the sodium concentration caused soil densification, compressive strength greater (-0.023 sodium λ -0.094 vs. no sodium λ), increasing the cohesion (263 kPa sodium vs. 114.5 kPa no sodium) and shear strength (363 kPa sodium vs. 250 kPa no sodium). Within the EC theory more expansive capacity of more sodium treatment was evident during the shear in relative terms. The changes found impact on the productive potential and the energy needed for crops in the soil studied.
