MESTANZA NOVOA, C.J.  y  ZOROGASTUA CRUZ, P.E. Distribución espacial de lombrices de tierra y propiedades de un Inceptisol en la ceja de selva peruana. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2019, vol.45, n.1, pp.121-127. ISSN 1669-2314.

Earthworms are the most studied agents of soil macrofauna. The influence of its activity on the soil properties was prove in several investigations. However, are few studies at spatial distribution level. The present study evaluated the spatial distribution of the earthworms and Oxyaquic Humudepts properties using the SADIE system (distance indices). The samples were taken from an organic coffee plantation in the Santa Rosa de Huayabamba district in Rodriguez de Mendoza province at Amazonas region – Peru. The study area had 900 m2, placing 49 sampling points in a regular grid of 30 x 30 m2 with distances of 5 m between points. Earthworm total density and biomass, adult and juvenile density, total organic carbon, total nitrogen, available phosphorus, pH, bulk density, gravimetric moisture and C:N were measured. Maps were produced by interpolation of the SADIE indices to facilitate interpretation. The results show that the total density and biomass, adult and juvenile density, available phosphorus and bulk density were distributed in aggregate patterns (Ia ≥ 1,40), while total organic carbon (Ia = 0,97), total nitrogen (Ia = 0,98), pH (Ia = 1,22), gravimetric moisture (Ia = 1,18) and C:N (Ia= 0,15) were distributed in random patterns. In turn, the earthworm community had a positive spatial association with total nitrogen (earthworm density 0,32; adults 0,31; juveniles 0,37) and negative with bulk density (Adults -0,32; biomass -0,37) and C:N (earthworm density -0,44; juveniles -0,39; biomass -0,40). We conclude that earthworm communities have aggregate patterns and low spatial association with soil properties except for total nitrogen, bulk density and C:N.
