Abstract

BELVEDERE, Carlos. Sobre el fracaso de la filosofía: absurdo, mística y locura en Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Enfoques [online]. 2008, vol.20, n.1, pp.31-44. ISSN 1669-2721.

In this paper, I deal with Merleau-Ponty's conception of philosophy all along his writings. I start exposing his phenomenological-existential conception of philosophy because it introduces a variety of considerations concerning a philosophical approach to ambiguity, silence, mystic experience, and creation as a task for ontology.  Then I will take into consideration the analogy between madness and philosophical though, the flaws of philosophy and its self destruction. Finally, I will assess the effort of philosophical thinking following Merleau-Ponnty's latest writings.

Keywords : Philosophy; Ontology; Ambiguity; Silence; Creation.
