This paper discusses the dialectical nature of Karl Barth's view on justice in his commentary of Paul's letter to the Romans. The author shows how Barth's views reveal his insertion within the reformed tradition of Luther and Calvin, and the strong Kierkegaardian influence of his thought when discussing the paradoxes present and the way they are overcome in Jesus Christ. In the last part of the paper, the author questions Barth's lack of reflection on the implications of justice for social and political spheres, which nevertheless are present in other works of this renowned theologian.
