Abstract

DIP, Patricia Carina. Spirit and Immediacy: "the Problem of Language" in Kierkegaard. Enfoques [online]. 2018, vol.30, n.2, pp.17-38. ISSN 1669-2721.

In 1961 Zuurdeg considered it was necessary to take Kierkegaard seriously as a philosopher and that his philosophy is precisely a "philosophy of language" similar to that of logical positivism, given that it condemns speculative philosophy, metaphysics and ontology in general. The objective of this article is to take Zuurdeg's idea as its starting point but not in the context of the relation between Kierkegaard's philosophy of language and logical positivism. Instead, when it comes to categorizing existence in Kierkegaard's metaphysics, emphasis will be placed on the elements which belong to the German tradition, because these elements make it possible to understand language in spiritual terms.

Keywords : Kierkegaard; Language; Spirit; Immediacy; Limit.
