KORNBLIT, Ana Lía; MENDES DIZ, Ana María; DI LEO, Pablo Francisco  e  CAMAROTTI, Ana Clara. Entre la teoría y la práctica: algunas reflexiones en torno al sujeto en el campo de la promoción de la salud. Rev. argent. sociol. [online]. 2007, vol.5, n.8, pp.11-27. ISSN 1669-3248.

This study reflects upon the notions of subject, autonomy, and empowerment presumed and promoted by health-care promotion programs and health-care schools in particular. First we analyze the dissociation between practice and information typical of many theoretical and practical schools as regards health-care promotion. Thus, and based on Cornelius Castoriadis' , Paul Ricoeur's, and Anthony Giddens' definitions of the modern subject and its relationship with institutions, our proposal seeks to contribute in overcoming this dissociation. Second, we describe research and intervention experiences developed at secondary schools of the City of Buenos Aires since 2005, focusing on the perspective of the actors involved. Finally, and based on these works, we return to our theoretical framework to advance proposals for the strengthening of the field of health-care promotion, with a special emphasis on health-care schools, through the articulation of theory and praxis.
