This paper analyzes some of the notions that infuse governmentality studies. By these I refer to a set of works originally derived from Foucault's 1977-1978 lectures at the Collège de France, which originated a relevant literature both in France and in the English-speaking world on the topic. This article focuses particularly on the production of the authors grouped in the" History of the Present" Network.
